MEN APPLYING GRADUATE LEVEL CHRIST-LIKENESS

God’s Ways at Work
I stumbled upon "Discovering the Mind of a Woman" about 13 years ago when an evangelist visited my former church. He had a book table, and this book was one he was selling. Not sure what exactly caused me to purchase it, but it ended up in my possession. I read it and I tried to use it to help out a friend of mine who was going through a troubling time in his marriage. I even offered to pay for counseling with him and Ken, because of how effective it sounded like the counseling was. He declined, and through the process of time he and his wife were divorced and never reconciled. There were things in the book that I felt like I understood and benefitted from, and I began to see some positive results in my marriage. That didn't last though, as I got distracted with life and the busyness that comes with it.
Fast forward to the beginning of 2026. I had been sensing a struggle in my marriage for a good number of years. Things just weren't the same, but I couldn't quite put my finger on why. My wife told me that she did not love me anymore. I did sense that and asked about it, and she confirmed.
Well, that started me on the journey of a lifetime. As I sensed things starting to get even worse, a couple weeks later I picked up that same book, "Discovering the Mind of a Woman", seemingly at random, on my bookshelf. I started to read through it with the purpose that I would begin counseling with Ken. Before my first session though, I tried to implement some things that I thought the book was telling me to do. Boy did that backfire! With my man-brain, I misunderstood what God was trying to teach me. Because His and Ken’s only goal for me is to defeat my sin nature and become a living example of the Christ!
In my first meeting with Ken, he was helpful in explaining how my sin nature took over and I used the wrong un-Christ-like words in the things that I said to my wife and why, so he gave me the proper, Christ-like words to say. Over the course of the next 3 months, he gave me some good understanding and counsel and would recommend things that I could say to my wife to begin the healing process and minister to her spirit. I was so skeptical about what he was saying though. I thought, "I already did tell her those things; what good will saying it again do?".
The final straw for me came when I discovered that my wife was wanting to seek a divorce. This was shocking, heartbreaking and gut-wrenching. The very next day I was on a call with Ken. He wasn’t thrown off guard by that at all. I thought he was going to say, "nice talking to you, wish it would have worked out". Instead, he began to help me understand specifically why this was happening, and specifically what I could do about it. Over the course of the next three months, I have watched God work, using Ken and the things he’s teaching me, helping me learn what to say to my wife that will minister to her spirit and affect her in positive ways. It’s hard to describe in a few words the spiritual renewal that God is bringing into my life. It feels like I have done a complete 180, not just in understanding my wife, but also being able to understand how my human spirit started becoming operative during this time, to start seeing my carnality over the entirety of my Christian life and marriage, and as I learn about it to repent of it. To learn what it meant about becoming more and more Christ-like. Enabling me to start learning about walking in the Spirit, becoming a spiritual person and understanding how to lead my wife's spirit. All this understanding I had absolutely zero knowledge of at the beginning of this year. I truly have CQM and Ken to thank for all of it and am excited about what the next two years of being in the Fellow Warriors classes will be. Because it’s hard to believe I would have discovered it some other way.
I chose to enroll in the two-year CQI+ Fellow Warriors classes and its intensive discipleship program. I know that it will be worth way more than I am paying for it. I am so thirsty for being able to become a Christ-like man, husband, and father and it is now my sole pursuit in my life. The classes so far have truly been eye opening. I have learned things that I did not even know existed before. I am so eager for what comes next, and I am excited to take this journey with a group of men that are also eager to learn Christ-likeness and a spiritual realm that they and I were not heretofore familiar with.

Locating the Kingdom of God
We’re told in John 3:1-3 (KJV), 1 “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?”
|
Even though Nicodemus is recognized as a ruler (a leader) and an authority in the Hebrew world, still, (as a man) the first thing that occurred to him and captivated his concern; causing his imagination to mentally wrestle with the extreme difficulty of re-entering his mother’s womb — to be re-born. That’s not an unusual characteristic in us men. Almost all of the 25,000+ men who have been influenced by the Christ Quest Ministries message has struggled with their sin nature as it expertly distracts them from God’s requirements that they to be a living example of the Christ to their wife.
Here’s an example: If a wife says, “I don’t feel cared for by you!” Her husband’s response could be, “How dare you say that? You have a roof over your head, clothes on your back, food in your stomach, a joint bank account, etc.!”
Notice, he’s focusing exclusively on the physical events. Yes… he is truly providing physically, but his argumentative response proves he’s without a clue that God’s trying to communicate through her… to him… the spiritual effects he’s having on her spirit. Remember feeling cared for is an emotion, and emotions are a product of the human spirit!
Proverbs 15:13 (KJV) “A merry heart (spirit) maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart (spirit) the spirit is broken. “Merry” is an emotion. The human heart does not experience emotions — the human spirit does!!
|
Please remember that a bunch of men who were Greek scholars; hired by King James the ecumenist and pedophile — then too the scholars definitely didn’t know the Hebrew language from God’s perspective.
|
The Hebrew word for heart is leb pronounced labe. It means: the heart, also widely used for feelings, even the will and the intellect; likewise for the center of anything (uh-oh, there’s evidence those Greek scholars didn’t know about the difference between the spirit and the flesh or they would have noted that specifically) — the concordance then follows with 23 emotional words which do not originate within the heart but within the spirit!!! Let me repeat: The human heart does not experience emotions — the human spirit does!!
|
Let’s go back to John 3:1-4 (AMPC), with a different, spiritual focus.
1 “Now there was a certain man among the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler (a leader, an authority) among the Jews, 2 Who came to Jesus at night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know and are certain that You have come from God [as] a Teacher; for no one can do these signs (these wonderworks, these miracles—and produce the proofs) that You do unless God is with him. 3 Jesus answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother’s womb again and be born? (Emboldens and parenthesis mine.)
That’s physically experienced within the spirit of that person here on earth — now — once born again.
Matthew 7:21 (AMPC), “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.”
That’s spiritually experienced in heaven, but not until one dies.
Here’s where the Kingdoms of God are located:
I perceive in verse 3 of John 3, that right after accepting the Christ as Savior, being a newborn baby believer — here on earth — has been spiritually alerted about the kingdom of God within them and is now able to see it and is thus inspired to participate in the kingdom of God here on earth!
And yet, in Matthew 7:21, it talks of the one who has accepted the Christ as their Savior and who is dedicated to God (because they read, study and apply the Bible through ingesting it) will literally grow more mature in their spirit — thereby they will be doing the will of the Father daily. That’s the criteria for residing in the kingdom of heaven, with God in heaven.
So, my conclusion is: When a person accepts the Christ as their Savior, they become a member of the kingdom of God and its rules which reside within them. Their daily lives are to be directed by the Holy Spirit, Who has taken up residence within their spirit. They are to become living proof that they are living out God’s standards as they are living in the spiritual realm where God is King and are becoming living demonstrations of the maturity where the fruit of spirit is exhibited in them.

Why Did God Create Anxiousness?
Have you ever heard or been told — as a means of trying to help you with your anxiousness, “The Bible says, to not be anxious…” And the results of their “help” was, they made you feel scolded, guilty, ashamed and convicted for being anxious.
So first of all, let’s investigate that word “anxious” — which is used in many of the English versions of the Bible. The reason that person who quoted that verse to you caused you to feel so convicted is because of the well-known understanding of what anxiousness consists of. It’s known to consist of being: purely uneasy and apprehensive about an uncertain event, situation, event or matter that has not taken place yet. The Dictionary’s definition of apprehensive: Anxious or fearful about the future, insecure. Not having a clear vision of what God’s plans are for me so I can follow them.
Second, if you look for the word “anxious” in Hebrew or Greek in the Strong’s Exhaustive Dictionary, you will not find that word! Since there is no word “anxious” in the Bible, there is no translation from Greek to English for the word “anxious.”
So please follow me as I proceed by using the King James translation of Luke 12:22. Here’s what it says, “And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.”
Since we all understand the word “no”. I’m going to focus on the word “thought” which the word “no” is instructing us to be alert to. I’ll be utilizing Strong’s Exhaustive Dictionary: The number that the Strong’s dictionary lists for the translation of the word “thought” is: 3309.
3309 - merimnao (pronounced mer-im-nah-o). and means, to be anxious (that word anxious was added by men) to be, have, care, take thought. Additionally, (3309 is from (3308).
3308 - marimna (pronounced mer-im-nah) and means becoming distracted, solicitude. Solicitude is Archaic (during Bible Times) meaning full of desire; eager: or makes one struggle with concern Additionally, (3308 is from (3307).
3307 - marizo (pronounced mer-id-zo) 3307 is: to part (separate), to apportion (to divide and assign according to a plan), bestow, share, disunite, differ, distribute, divide, supply apart from. Additionally, (3307 is from (3313).
3313 – meros (pronounced mer-os) from an obsolete and primitive word meaning: to receive as a section – a part of — not as a whole, allotted, being divided or shared.
The emotion of anxiousness is not forbidden for Christians to experience. In fact, I dare you to never get anxious. Getting anxious is not the problem. What you do about it can be.
So let me share what I believe God wants me to learn from Luke 12:22. To do that I’ve got to look at and implement those words that define “thoughts”. Please notice that all of the emboldened descriptive words are all talking about separating something from something else. In the words above that I’ve emboldened, all involve altering of a person’s focus.
|
Here’s where I make a verse more personally applicable. Since Hebrew or Greek words can use several English words to depict a word, I can choose which words make a verse more applicable to me!
|
Now let me explain what that verse is telling me to practice (I’ve added within the parenthesis, I’ve expanded the descriptions of the Greek with their English meanings.)
Here goes, “And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought (don’t separate your thoughts from my thoughts about your life — concerning what your thoughts are about life — as opposed to what I want for you) for your life, (and please have the same kind of hunger and appetite for the spiritual food in My Word, that’s equal to your hunger for physical food) what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on, (Please, daily, put as much interest in wearing the self-protective spiritual armor I have for you as much as you worry about what you physically wear).
Okay, here’s what prompted my in-depth search. I would not even have known that the word ‘anxious’ is not in the “Authorized” version of the Bible if I didn’t investigate the words I read and discover more accurately God’s message to me, so I can make a richer application by incorporating what His words says to me for my daily life.
Hopefully, as illustrated above, you’ve noticed the process I’ve used to make that Scripture so much more applicable for me by using more of the English words.
In this booklet pictured, Discovering Concepts That Build Christ-likeness, I’ve picked 16 verses from the King James version of the Bible and added more of the English words that The Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance uses to depict/describe the Greek words. This booklet is available on our website, Christ Quest Ministries.com.
