In honor of one of America's most revered advocates for racial justice and social change, Seton Hall will once again offer a special one-credit workshop on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 20, 2025) from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Bethany Hall (virtual option available). The workshop will examine perspectives on racism, privilege and justice, including informative assessments of historical and contemporary issues from faculty. Registration is now open.

| Faculty Excellence Awards: Call for Nominations Due Tomorrow |
As a reminder, please nominations in any of the award categories for the annual Celebration of Faculty Excellence are due by tomorrow, January 15. We will continue our tradition of asking each unit to review and recommend their School/College-wide awardees to their Dean. For this year only, student letters of support may be submitted to your Dean's Office by January 31, 2025. Please submit the nomination form and prepare your applications as per the guidelines as additional information may be requested by committees. Learn more.

Visit Walsh Gallery to experience a unique exhibit of sacred texts from Seton Hall's expansive rare book and manuscript collections. Showcasing a rich tapestry of religious devotion that includes Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Buddhism, each piece highlights the transformative practice of ornamenting sacred texts—a universal form of spiritual expression. See gilded illuminations, intricate calligraphy and musical notation that have connected the worshiper and the divine for eons, elevating the human spirit. Read more about the exhibit.

Psychology Professors Update Behavioral Sciences Text
|
From Professors Kelly Goedert and Susan Nolan comes the sixth edition of their text, Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences (Macmillan, 2024). Covering all of the basic concepts and skills of statistics in a behavioral sciences context, including fascinating stories and real data drawn from the history of statistics and contemporary research, the text is essential for all behavioral science students seeking to broaden their understanding of the field. The new edition, notes Macmillan, features extensive practice exercises, adaptive quizzing, immersive learning activities and updated information on open science practices and new “Statistics at Work” photo examples.

The Sponsored Programs Calendar is a wide-ranging schedule of programs and opportunities across the entire curricula and activities of the university. This calendar reviews upcoming grant opportunities focused on institutional programmatic opportunities in the areas such as student success, education, capacity building, and economic/workforce development. Microsoft Teams for Spring 2025 Courses
Alongside Canvas course shells, a Microsoft Team has been created for all Spring 2025 courses. Leveraging a Team in your course enables you to seamlessly utilize chat and video conferencing features in your classes without the need to manually manage team membership. Before the start of the semester, remember to activate your course's Team. Review helpful Microsoft Teams how-to articles.

URC Application Cycle Now Open!
The 2025 (URC) application cycle is now open! The University Research Council offers assistance for summer stipend requests of up to $10,000 and research grants of up to $10,000 for use during the subsequent academic year. The application deadline for Summer 2025 is February 17, 2025, at noon.
