As I read through this newsletter, I’m reminded of the many ways our community continues to shape the future of the Grossman School of Business. From celebrating faculty, student, and alumni achievements to expanding scholarship opportunities for future generations, each story reflects the generosity, dedication, and sense of purpose that define our network.
As autumn settles across Vermont and students once again fill our classrooms, study spaces, and campus pathways, there is a renewed sense of energy and possibility at UVM. The beginning of each academic year reminds us that our mission is both enduring and evolving. We are inspired by the curiosity, ambition, and talent of our students, and grateful for the alumni whose engagement, mentorship, and support help create transformative experiences that extend far beyond graduation.
We also pause to honor the memory of Sarah O'Sullivan, whose impact continues to be felt throughout our community, while looking ahead through initiatives like UVM Connect that strengthen relationships between alumni and students. Thank you for the many ways you continue to support, inspire, and elevate the Grossman School of Business.

UVM Athletics Means Business |
Did you know that approximately 25% of UVM's 458 varsity student-athletes are Grossman School of Business students? Our new UVM Athletics Means Business video series highlights how these students bring the same dedication, discipline, resilience, and teamwork that drive success in competition into the classroom, internships, and their future careers. Through partnerships with UVM Athletics, we're sharing the stories of student-athletes who are developing as business students, leaders, and professionals while competing at the collegiate level.
We're also expanding the conversation beyond NCAA athletics through our Academic Excellence Meets Athletic Leadership article series. Written by Grossman student Sophie Ball-Dolan '27, the series features female-identifying students whose accomplishments in club and individual sports demonstrate the same commitment to excellence seen throughout our community. Recent profiles include Shannon Douglas '26, an Olympic weightlifter, entrepreneur, and recipient of the 2025 Gallagher Flynn Award for Excellence in Accounting. By sharing these stories, we're highlighting the many ways Grossman students develop leadership skills, pursue their passions, and make an impact both on and off campus.
