Trans Day of Visibility: A Call to Action |
Monday, March 31 is International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV). This year, RECLAIM is encouraging everyone to take these actions to act in solidarity with transgender people at a time it is needed more than ever.
|
-
Donate to RECLAIM or another trans-serving organization like Trans Lifeline, Point of Pride, or the Sylvia Rivera Law Project
- Check in with a trans person in your life. Ask them how they're doing, what they need, and how you can help. Listen to their concerns, and keep doing it.
- Volunteer with an organization serving the trans community, such as RECLAIM.
-
Email and call your state and federal representatives and insist they protect the rights and dignity of transgender people and support full participation in public life. If your representatives vote and speak in support of the trans community, thank them! Find your representatives.
-
Share a message of affirmation and support on social media in support of the trans community. Elevate the voices and perspective of trans folks, even if it challenges and makes you uncomfortable.

On Saturday, February 15, 2025, RECLAIM held our annual Celebrate the Love gala & brunch, bringing together 400 people to support and sustain RECLAIM's work to provide financially accessible, gender-affirming mental health care for queer and trans youth. Altogether, the event raised just over $90,000. The generosity of our sponsors and attendees also leveraged a $15,000 matching gift from The Clara Foundation, altogether raising $105,000 to support RECLAIM's services.
Our executive director Ryan Fouts shared a few updates about RECLAIM during his address in the program. Last year, RECLAIM:
|
- Served 195 youth
-
Provided 90 sessions of family therapy and 3,360 sessions of individual therapy
- Waived over $39,000 in fees that would have otherwise prevented youth from gaining access to care
- Attended eight Pride festivals in Greater Minnesota
- Continued to serve 16+ year-olds who provide their own consent
- Continued to serve families who move to Minnesota from other states
