Celebrating Our 75th Anniversary

We are proudly celebrating our 75th anniversary and embarking on a journey down memory lane, celebrating the rich tapestry of experiences, milestones, and memories that have shaped our remarkable history. At the heart of this celebration are the stories – your stories – that bring to life the essence of what it means to be part of Memorial Medical Center.

From our beginnings as Memorial General Hospital on Alameda Boulevard in 1950 to our ever-growing campus on South Telshor Boulevard today, each of you has played a unique and invaluable role in our collective success. Your stories are the threads that weave together the fabric of our hospital, reflecting the passion and spirit to provide quality healthcare.

We invite you to share your personal anecdotes, memorable moments, and reflections on what being part of MMC or receiving care at MMC has meant to you. Whether it's a tale of quality care as a patient, a fond memory with colleagues, or a proud moment of achievement, we want to hear it all. Simply click on the link below to get started.

Making Connections And Advocating In Santa Fe

We were proud to be a platinum sponsor of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce's Las Cruces Day in Santa Fe from February 1-3, where we gathered together to advocate on behalf of our beloved Mesilla Valley Region for a wide variety of issues important to us, including healthcare. Memorial Medical Center CEO Dennis Knox also attended functions for New Mexico State University Day in Santa Fe, bolstering our already strong relationship with NMSU. It was great to see so many friendly faces from Southern New Mexico in Santa Fe!
Additionally, a strong collection of our employed cardiologists attended the New Mexico Medical Society's White Coat Day at the State Capitol on January 29 (pictured in the photos at bottom right), where physicians from across the state unite to advocate for medicine and patient care. Of particular interest this year is the call for medical malpractice reform, an issue which has made it increasingly difficult to recruit and retain doctors in our state.

MMC, Cancer Warriors Partner Together To Offer
Free Yoga Classes For Cancer Survivors

We’re extremely excited to have launched a series of free yoga classes for cancer survivors in partnership with Cancer Warriors and two fantastic yoga instructors in town. We hosted the first class on February 17th and saw 14 participants.

The integration of yoga into oncology care has shown significant benefits for individuals’ physical, emotional and psychological well-being. Participants do not need to be Memorial Cancer Center patients, as this community program is for all individuals currently with cancer or those who have experienced it in the past.
Learn more about the classes in the flyer above and please help us spread the word throughout the community!

Memorial Earns Rare Certification For Bariatrics

We are very pleased to announce that Memorial Medical Center has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Bariatric Surgery Certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. Memorial is the only hospital in the Southwest U.S. with this prestigious designation and one of only five programs across the nation with this quality distinction.

In addition to this certification, Memorial is an Accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center for Bariatrics, and Surgical Quality Partner with the American College of Surgeons.
Our Bariatric Surgery program is renowned in our region and beyond for providing high quality care that leads to happier and healthier lifestyles for our patients. Our entire team takes great pride in the fact that we are among an esteemed and select handful of hospitals with this Joint Commission certification.
