The Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District Board has chosen Melissa Daruna as the new District Manager. She will replace long-time District Manager Darrell Windes, who is retiring from the position at the end of the year. Melissa is currently the Recreation Director for the Metropolitan District, and she will begin her new role on Oct. 1. Darrell will stay on through the end of the year to help train and transition Melissa into the District Manager job. Starting in January, Darrell will cut back to a part-time position as the Finance Manager for the District. Thank you to Darrell for his service to the Metro District for the last 32 years. Melissa has worked in the parks and recreation field for over a decade. She is a graduate of Western Illinois University and the Illinois Centennial Honors College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration. She graduated from the John Marshall Law School in 2009. She has worked in recreation programming for KCRMD since 2010.

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association will soon have an opening for a Community Standards Administrator. The Community Standards Administrator enforces the covenants, rules and regulations of the Master Association. He/she will also be responsible for coordinating the architectural process for members, the Architectural Committee and the Architectural Consultant. The position will start in January. It will be a year-round, full-time position reporting to the Executive Director.
