Football season is here, and we’re looking forward to welcoming Horned Frog fans back to campus for our first home game Saturday. This edition of Neighborhood News includes important game day information, a look at the new stadium lighting and a few timely updates for our TCU neighbors. Please share with your respective residents and neighborhood associations.

First Home Game of the Season
This weekend will be buzzing on campus! TCU’s first home football game of the season kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, against Grambling State. The game also marks the debut of several upgrades to Amon G. Carter Stadium.
What neighbors should know:

- Game week preparations: Band rehearsals, sound checks and other preparations will take place leading into Saturday.

Parking and traffic: Parking lots will open five hours before kickoff, at 2 p.m., and close 90 minutes after the game. Stadium Drive, between North Bellaire Drive and West Cantey Street, will close at noon and remain closed until 30 minutes after the game ends. Tailgating must conclude by 11 p.m. under city ordinance.

Flyover and fireworks: An F-16 flyover and fireworks are planned as part of the game day experience. Fireworks will be especially noticeable following Horned Frog touchdowns and may also occur during pregame activities, halftime and after the game.
- New stadium lighting: The new LED lighting system will debut Saturday, with color-changing effects and light shows during the game. Read more about what neighbors can expect below.

New Stadium Lighting to Debut at Home Opener
Neighbors may notice a new look at Amon G. Carter Stadium this fall as TCU introduces a full-spectrum LED lighting system. The lights will debut during Saturday’s 7 p.m. home opener against Grambling State.

Color-changing lights: The new system will create lighting effects synchronized with music and key game day moments, including touchdowns.
- Light shows: The lighting will be featured during pregame and halftime performances, with a new fourth-quarter tradition also planned.
- Game week preparations: Testing and other preparations may take place leading into Saturday’s game.
