| Are Your Prepared for a Wildfire?The Ken-Caryl Firewise Committee will host a wildfire education meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shaffer Room at the Ranch House. Residents are invited to attend and learn more about preparing for wildfire in Ken-Caryl. Representatives from the Ken-Caryl Firewise Committee, West Metro Fire Rescue and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will provide information on wildfires, emergency incidents, emergency notifications and safe evacuation procedures.

Crime Bulletin: Vehicle Trespasses
The Jeffco Sheriff's Office will be increasing patrols in the area due to recent vehicle trespasses. Here are some safety tips to minimize the chance of someone entering your vehicle and stealing personal belongings:
- Always keep vehicles locked, even in driveways.
- Do not leave valuables such as purses, wallets, laptops, etc., in vehicles.
- If you must leave valuables in the vehicle, do not leave them in plain sight.
- Park in well-lit areas, in view of the home, and/or in closed and locked garages.

| Beer, Wine, Bluegrass, Pony Rides, Face Painting and More at the Barn BrewHa Event
Don't miss Ken-Caryl Ranch’s newest event, the Barn BrewHa! The event will be at Dakota Lodge and the Equestrian Center on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be live bluegrass music from 1 to 3 p.m., pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, Equestrian Center tours, open house to see Dakota Lodge renovations, KC Nature activities, Ranger and open space information, beer and wine from 12 to 3 p.m., coffee, barbeque, and more! The event is free but please bring cash for drinks and barbeque. Due to limited seating, you are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets. There will not be event parking at Dakota Lodge. Only handicapped parking will be available at Dakota Lodge. All other attendees can park at Bradford Intermediate, and there will be a free shuttle to Dakota Lodge. You can also walk to the event! The event is sponsored by Eva Stadelmaier with Re/Max, the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association and the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District.

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association no longer automatically provides paper coupons for dues payments. If you would like to receive a monthly invoice we can email one to you each month. If you would like to sign up to receive an email invoice, please send a message to Annette Chavez at annettec@kcranch.org. Your email address will be kept confidential and used only for KCRMA business. If you would still like to receive a paper coupon book for 2017, we can order one for you for a fee of $5. | Equestrian Center Quarterly Meeting and Love Your Barn Spruce-Up EventThere will be an Equestrian Center Quarterly Meeting on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Equestrian Office. | TRAILS Youth Committee Applications Due FridayThe KCR TRAILS (Teens Rising Above in Leadership & Service) Youth Committee aims to build character, develop leadership skills, and serve the Ken-Caryl and surrounding area through community service/involvement. | Political Signs Need to Wait Until Sept. 24The Ken-Caryl Ranch Political Signage Policy states that political signs are not allowed on property until 45 days before an election. That means residents can display political signs starting Sept. 24.

| Open House to Discuss Hazardous Trails Near Brannon Gearhart Park, Wood Sorrel and Buckthorn Access TrailsThe Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association Board is considering a proposal to re-route sections of hard-surface trail and rebuild low-water stream crossings in and around Brannon Gearhart Park and is seeking community input on the project. An open house will be held on Sept. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dakota Lodge where residents can learn details about the project. See the News Article for more information and a map of the area. | Equestrian Center Task Force: Applications Due Sept. 15
An Equestrian Task Force will be formed to develop recommendations for both short and long-term facility improvements to the Equestrian Center. If you are interested in serving on the Task Force, you must submit an application by Thursday, Sept. 15. | Open Space Budget Meeting
The Ken-Caryl Ranch Open Space Committee is working on a recommendation to the Master Association Board for funding open space related projects and operations in 2017. The committee will conduct a special meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. at Dakota Lodge to discuss the budget, and the community is welcome to attend. This is one opportunity for you to weigh in on how your dues are spent on the management of open space and to voice your opinion on open space needs.

| Community Trail Work Day
The Ken-Caryl Trail Club and the Ken-Caryl Community Network are teaming up for a community-wide trail work event on Sunday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The project will be construction of the new Mastodon Trail, which will be a single-track, dirt trail connecting Brannon Gearhart Park to the Community Center, adjacent to Ken Caryl Ave. See map for the project location.
