Over the week of Nov. 19-26, NC State and UNC squared off in the annual Pantry Bowl, a competition to raise funds for NC State’s Feed the Pack Food Pantry and UNC’s Carolina Cupboard.

Funding a Classroom
 
Jack Rothacker, a third-year student at NC State taking an arts entrepreneurship course, has launched a GoFundMe to build a classroom in Soyapango, El Salvador, where he spent a week on a mission trip this summer.

  • The NC State Staff Senate will distribute warm winter clothing collected during the annual Winter Coat & Clothing Drive on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pack Essentials Hub, located in North Hall at 2200 Hillsborough St.
  • Winter Welcome Week is set for Jan. 5-13. If you are interested in submitting an event for the Winter Welcome Week Calendar, you can do so through the submission form on the Campus Partner & Student Organization Resources page on the New Student Programs Website. The deadline to submit is Dec. 8.
  • New Student Programs also needs volunteers to help with the check-in process for Spring Orientation on Jan. 5.
  • A new statue honoring three-time All-American basketball great David Thompson will be unveiled outside Reynolds Coliseum on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony is open to everyone.
  • Chancellor Randy Woodson and his wife, Susan, invite all NC State faculty and staff to The Point for their annual Holiday Open House on Friday, Dec. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • City Ballet’s December production of The Nutcracker in Stewart Theatre is a holiday tradition. This year’s performances (Dec. 8 and 9) include two guest artists, a current NC State student (Sam Ainley-Zoll) and a young alum (Sara Roe), both former dancers with Carolina Ballet.
  • Reminder: Spring 2024 Crafts Center class registration is now open to faculty, staff and the general public.
  • Experience dance and music performances at NC State! Tickets for all Department of Performing Arts and Technology fall 2023 concerts are now available for purchase through Ticket Central.
