š We worked together throughout her pregnancy. When my student and I first got together again after she had her baby, she told me that I had helped her talk to the nurses and doctors when her baby was being born. She had tears in her eyes & it meant so much to me.Ā

š My student surprised me with a birthday cake and "party" last week. My student suggested that we each read a newspaper every week and be prepared to discuss it. I was so proud of her for taking that initiative.
š My student has taught me to be even more grateful for my opportunities and the freedoms I've been granted as an American.
š The student asked if I would like to go with her to the local Mexican bakery after our session. I bought a loaf of Pan de Muertos and learned a few things about true Mexican cuisine!
š I remember my studentās excitement and pride when she had to take her son to the doctor, but there was no translator available. She conversed with the doctor, asked questions when she didnāt understand, and navigated the appointment beautifully. She was thrilled!
