Dr. Varanasi, associate professor of graduate nursing, was recognized for his innovative research on biomaterials and regenerative medicine. He is one of two UTA faculty members to receive this honor and will be inducted as a member during the NAI’s upcoming annual conference this June in Raleigh, North Carolina. Read more.

CONHI was well represented at the recent UT System Trauma Research and Combat Casualty Care Collaborative (TRC4) symposium in Austin on February 20-21. The symposium highlights the different research strengths in trauma research across the UT system and provides an ideal forum to facilitate the exchange of new ideas and build new professional partnerships.
Dr. Jingsong Zhou and Dr. Paul Fadel organized eight trauma researchers from CONHI and another eight trauma researchers from the UTA College of Engineering (COE) to attend this symposium. Dr. Marc Brotto and Dr. Ashfaq Adnan (COE) delivered inspiring speeches to highlight the innovative trauma research in CONHI and COE at UTA.

| Stacy Shelton, a CONHI Administrative Assistant II for Sponsored Programs, was recently voted 2024 Advisor of the Year by the Delta Upsilon Fraternity.
In her spare time, Shelton volunteers as a UTA faculty/staff advisor on campus with Fraternity and Sorority Life. She offers guidance and mentorship to members, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges; supports initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion; emphasizes the importance of academic achievement; and much more.
