Hi everyone! My name is Ainee Martin and I’m a current junior majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular engineering with a Bioengineering minor on a pre med track. I am currently studying for my MCAT coming up on April 12th. (Yay fun!). I’m originally from Petit Goave, Haiti but I spent around ten years in West Palm Beach, Florida and moved to Indianapolis after my sophomore year of high school and I’m still here in Indiana.
Around campus I’m pretty involved. I live in Cavanaugh Hall and have served as their D&I Commissioner since my sophomore year as well as being one of their mail clerks. In the fall you can catch me passing out trash bags for the office of sustainability in the bookstore lot. I’m also involved in our scholars program serving as a tutor and a co outreach chair. Most of the time though, you’ll find me in the best gym on campus (the Rock) working (not working out) as a supervisor. Outside of school and work, I also do research for the Heqluist-Wiest lab working mainly on the experimental side doing small molecule and drug synthesis.
One of my favorite parts of school though is being on the board of the Caribbean Student Association! I really love to share my culture with the campus and our events are always fun. Besides that, the friends I’ve made on campus and thanks to Galvin and Questbridge make school pretty fun. For all my underclassmen, definitely reach out if you’re on a similar path or just wanna chat!
