At PDX, we believe in recognizing the moments that truly stand out – the ones that reflect our core values of being friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful. That’s why, every quarter, we host the PDX People customer service awards.
Who can win?
Everyone who works at PDX is eligible. All it takes is consistently going above and beyond while embodying the PDX People values. Winners attend the

event, and all nominees receive recognition.
How do I nominate someone?
If you witness great service – whether it’s a small act of kindness or an amazing customer experience – you can submit a nomination. The ability to nominate is open to all: coworkers, managers, and even travelers. If you see something special, say something!
How are winners selected?
The PDX working committee – made up of 30 volunteers from across airport industries – reviews the nominations and selects the winners each quarter.
What's the awards event like?
Winners and their managers are invited to a special celebration with the PDX working committee, and will enjoy a guest speaker, good food, and an awards ceremony.

Lost and Found |

| You’re walking down Concourse B when you stumble across a pair of prescription glasses on the ground. Do you know what to do next? If you said, "Take them to Lost and Found," you’re right!
You can find the Lost and Found office on the north side of the mezzanine level (pre-security) in the main terminal.
|
|
|
|
During operating hours, you can bring found items to the office. You can also bring items to the information booths in baggage claim (if they are staffed) or use a drop box. Items put in the drop boxes will go to Lost and Found within 24 hours, but if the lost item is essential – think wallet, ID, medical supplies, keys, cell phone, or prescription glasses – call the PDX Communications Center at 503-460-4747 and let them know an essential item is in the drop box. See the full list of drop box locations.
Lost and Found operating hours are listed online and there’s a place on the website where people can submit an inquiry about missing items.

Want to be one of the faces of PDX social? Join our on-camera talent pool and help showcase the people who make PDX possible.
We're looking for employees who are interested in appearing in future content for our social accounts @pdxairport and @portofportland. That could mean explaining your job, showing off your workspace, jumping into a trend, lip syncing, or just being part of a fun moment.

This year's poll collected votes in more than 200 categories, and top winners include Screen Door (Best Brunch Spot and Best Soul Food),

Tender Loving Empire (Best Local Gift Shop), Powell's Books (Best Bookstore), Smith Teamaker (Best Tea Shop), Loyal Legion (Best Beer Selection on Tap), and Freeland Spirits (Best Distillery). Plus, two winners have a smaller-scale airport presence: Hollywood Theatre (Best Movie Theater) and Topaz Farm (Best Local Farm). Portland State University’s Orientation and Mobility graduate program students recently visited PDX using canes, guides, and navigation apps GoodMaps and Aira to understand firsthand what blind and visually impaired travelers encounter going through a bustling regional travel hub and TSA security.
As part of the visit, students received a presentation and tour from Port of Portland's Jill McPherson, Customer Program and Services Manager, who shared the airport’s accessibility features, including hearing support, touch screen maps, and a sensory room with a mock airplane.
As McPherson said, learning experiences like these are just as beneficial for airport staff as students. “This gives our officers an opportunity to work with those that are blind or low vision or hearing impaired or deaf [and show] that they can still get their job done safely and really meet the needs of the guest."
