Provost's Welcome to the Spring Semester

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the Spring 2025 semester! Thank you for all that you do to educate our students, and thanks as well for the many successes of the fall semester across our research, engagement, and access missions. I look forward to more this spring!

The success of our students is, of course, key to meeting our research, innovation, and engagement goals and fulfilling our moral responsibility as an institution with an access mission. As a reminder, I’m providing you with links to key policies, resources, and tips for advancing student learning this spring:

The Policies and Resources for Instructors page summarizes vital information to support both you and your students.
The UWM Syllabus Template provides a standardized, approved format for all syllabi, including all the required and recommended messages for students.
The Canvas Quick Start Guide features tutorials and videos to help you get started in Canvas with tips for starting the semester right.
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) offers resources on supporting student success in the classroom as well as events throughout the term.
