THF Attends Real Places Conference 2025 in Austin |
The premier preservation conference in Texas wrapped up last week in Austin with over 900 attendees. Hosted and organized by the Friends of the Texas Historic Commission, the conference featured educational sessions, panels, and keynotes for professionals and volunteers working to preserve the historic resources across the state. Since 2024, THF has supported scholarships at the conference, enabling students, volunteers, and community organizations to attend. THF tabled a booth during the opening Meet Up event, and President & CEO David Preziosi participated in several popular panel presentations to spread the word about our advocacy work, grant programs, and tips for a successful funding application.

Board of Directors Meet in Austin |
The spring board meeting of the Texas Historical Foundation Board of Directors was held in Austin this month, hosted by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) at their downtown office. Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D. (pictured above with THF President & CEO David Preziosi and Board Chair Brian Costanza), stopped by the meeting to talk about the work of the GLO. After the meeting, the board was treated to an amazing tour of GLO’s archives by the archives staff to view documents and maps in their impressive collection. THF directors approved eight grants for the Spring 2025 funding cycle-- stay tuned to learn about the grant recipients and their projects in our May newsletter.
