The Office of Faculty Affairs centers our work on three priorities: Faculty Advancement & Recognition, Faculty Development & Growth, and Faculty Relations & Policy.

In the Office of Faculty Affairs, we administer the university teaching, service and collaboration awards. We also support KU researchers in their pursuit of prestigious external awards. KU is proud to recognize faculty accomplishments at the University Teaching Award ceremony each fall and the University Research Award ceremony each spring.

Faculty Affairs also maintains and manages the university processes for promotion & tenure, progress toward tenure, and sabbatical leave, as well as KU's distinguished professorships. Through our New Faculty Orientation and Early Career Faculty Foundation events, you will get to know many of the offices and departments we partner with who also support the career cycle of our faculty and help in celebrating faculty accomplishments.

Save the date for New Faculty Orientation:
August 17 & 18!

Our New Faculty Orientation for full-time faculty takes place over two days and serves as an opportunity to hear from campus leaders; learn more about KU’s students; and become acquainted with key units that support teaching and research, provide course design resources, help with grant writing and funding, and foster professional development. Most importantly, New Faculty Orientation will provide you with a chance to connect with each other. 

Additionally, we are hosting a New Faculty Orientation campus tour on Wednesday morning (Aug. 19). Join us for coffee and donuts, and a guided tour to learn more about our beautiful campus.
