Celebrating Victors
UM-Dearborn publicly announced its $50 million Victors for Michigan Campaign, its most ambitious fundraising campaign to date, on Friday. The campaign will focus on four funding priorities: expand student access to the university, develop new programs and interdisciplinary opportunities, create innovate environments for learning, and attract and retain top educators and researchers.

For more than 30 years, UM-Dearborn has honored outstanding alumni for their contributions to the community. This year's Alumni Difference Makers include Julee Cowher, Juman Doleh-Alomary, Marie Lozon, Terry McElroy, Jerry Mollien, Salma Safiedine, Dan Wakeman.
Arifa Javed, a sociology lecturer who has studied immigrant experience for two decades, will debut her new documentary next week at the East Lansing Film Festival. "Essential Arrival" examines Michigan's Indian immigrant population in the 21st century.
Barb Bolek, senior associate librarian and cataloguer, is an athletic trailblazer and (former) wrestling enthusiast. Learn more in this week's Icebreaker.
UM-Dearborn recently implemented a new emergency alert system. Desk phones now are programmed to allow public address capabilities, which can be used during a campus emergency. 

Regents Forum scheduled for Oct. 28
U-M regental candidates Michael Behm, Rob Steele, Ronald Weiser and incumbent Kathy White will be on campus Oct. 28 to participate in a Regents Forum. All candidates were invited to attend the event, during which time faculty, staff and students will have an opportunity to meet the candidates and ask questions regarding their platforms. The Regents Forum takes place at 7 p.m. in Kochoff Hall C. Learn more about the candidates.
