Dear friend,
On behalf of the Parent Development team, greetings to every Andover family and a Big Blue welcome to our newest parents and guardians!
Our team, in partnership with our colleagues in the Office of Academy Resources (OAR), works with parents to build financial support for Andover. The Parent Fund is a core focus of parent giving and a vital component of the Andover Fund. Our annual giving program addresses Andover’s most pressing needs and benefits every student’s experience—thanks to the generosity of our parents and alumni.
We invite your involvement and look forward to sharing updates on our collective Parent Development goals and progress. Fall term highlights include:
- Our commitment to fundraising with clarity and compassion in this difficult year—This year’s Parent Fund goal stands at over $3 million, representing 30 percent of the overall Andover Fund goal. While we aspire for every parent to join in making an annual gift, we recognize that this year presents exceptional challenges and a wide range of individual circumstances.
- Webinar: “The Parent Fund: A Critical Resource During Challenging Times”—Please mark your calendar to join fellow parents, volunteers, and members of the administration for this informative webinar on Thursday, October 29, at 10 a.m. (EDT). Attendees will learn how support from parents is crucial to sustaining Andover’s excellence and receive an update on Academy finances, including the impact of COVID-19. The webinar will also highlight ways to deepen your engagement with the Academy through parent volunteer opportunities. You will receive registration information shortly.
- Upcoming communication inviting your Parent Fund support—On behalf of the Parent Fund Committee, every parent and guardian may expect to receive a letter from Co-Chairs Jon ’86 and Julie Kukk P’19, ’22, next month. Thank you to those parents who have already participated this year!
- Volunteer with the Parent Development team—If you would like to explore becoming a Parent Fund Committee volunteer, event host, or parent welcome volunteer, please email Shannan Clarke, associate director of Parent Development.
Thank you for considering your involvement this year! Shannan Clarke, Elisabeth Munro (Parent Development coordinator), and I welcome your questions and ideas.
Above all, be well and stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Rebecca G. Brewster
