CIA Update on COVID-19

Dear Alumni:

As we continue to navigate through this challenging time, I want to update you on CIA’s efforts to adjust amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. As many of you may know, we have followed instructions from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine to suspend in-school instruction to ensure the safety and health of students, faculty and staff. Our dedicated on-campus community has come together to develop solutions for online instruction and to identify creative solutions for courses that require hands-on learning. Faculty has done a wonderful job in modifying curriculum for remote instruction, and staff members remain fully accessible to support our students. Our facilities and cleaning teams are working to ensure that our building is as safe and strong as ever when students return.

Although our faculty and most of our staff are working remotely, CIA remains fully operational and we are committed to support our alumni as much as we can. We plan to share updates as necessary. As of now, the Alumni Exhibition is going ahead as scheduled, with the submission deadline of April 1. In the event that the exhibition is canceled due to continued impacts of COVID-19, we will refund the submission fee. I hope that you will consider sending in your art and design work.

I am grateful to our alumni community for all of your support and well-wishes during these unprecedented times. I have been able to connect with many of you over the years and am always struck by the talent and passion that our alumni display through their work every day. Thank you for continuing to engage with CIA by attending events, serving as mentors and guest speakers for our students, and sharing your stories and updates with us.

I hope that you stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Grafton
