Welcome to AFSA Thomas Bacon III! |
Thomas Bacon III began his new role as the Assistant Director for New Student Programs on October 1st, 2025. He brings with him a background in the non-profit sector, where he developed a strong foundation in service and community engagement. Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, followed by a master’s degree in Finance from Southern New Hampshire University. In addition to his academic credentials he holds a certification from the U.S. Navy Ombudsman Program, further demonstrating his commitment to leadership and support roles.
In his current position as Assistant Director of New Student Programs, Thomas plays a vital role in shaping the experience of incoming students. He is responsible for overseeing orientation programs and working collaboratively with various campus partners to ensure that students transitioning into professional schools are met with a welcoming and supportive environment. His efforts are focused on fostering student engagement and promoting success from the very first day.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Thomas enjoys a variety of recreational activities outside of work; He is a scuba diver and enjoys traveling, going on cruises, and playing pickleball.
