| Spotlight on ... Interviews That Impress
When is the best time to prepare for interviews? BEFORE you get an interview! The process of succinctly describing your personal background, goals and accomplishments is not as easy as you might think. Review these tips as you prepare to communicate your value to potential employers:

| FAQ of the Month I know I need to say "no" more often, but I'm struggling to do so. Have any tips? It can be difficult to decline requests that don't mesh with your interests/availability. There's a tension between wanting to help and recognizing there's only so much you can do in a given workday/week/month. As you evaluate the demands on your time, ask yourself these questions: - Will your other work, personal obligations, etc. suffer if you say yes?
- Do you understand exactly what's involved with the task?
- Is there someone else who should be doing the job or who is better suited to it?
- Will this positively contribute to your career competencies or personal network?
Depending on your answers, you may need to reflect before you dive into something new.
