David Jennings Brings Kindness to the Rescue
David Jennings (he/him) with SP Plus Corporation received two nominations for his kind, patient and empathetic customer service.
Nominated by Laura, a PDX traveler
"We got to our car after a very long travel day only to find the car’s battery was dead. We contacted the call center line from the shuttle bus station for assistance, and David arrived quickly and was so incredibly friendly. He pulled out his jump box and got us going in less than five minutes. We were so very thankful and appreciate that this service is available at PDX!"
Nominated by Rob, a PDX traveler
"David helped my father locate his vehicle in the economy lot. It took a while, but David was super helpful and patient with my dad – his memory isn’t very good and that made the search a bit harder. The world needs more of David’s patience, understanding and exceptional customer service."

Share Your Thoughts: PDX Childcare Survey
In collaboration with Portland State University, PDX is conducting a workforce survey. Your feedback will help us assess the childcare needs of airport employees and explore potential childcare support options. As a bonus, all survey participants are entered in a drawing to win a $20 gift card.
This is an important tool to help us learn about your needs, so please pass this along to your co-workers and encourage them to take the survey.

Workers install terrazzo floor in the new main terminal.

Making Waves in the Terrazzo Floors

While some of you are thrilled to welcome the iconic carpet back, we know covering an entire airport with carpet isn’t practical. That’s why we’re excited about the artisans from Corradini Corp. who created PDX’s new terrazzo floorsWhy terrazzo, you ask? With its sleek surface and embedded stone flecks, terrazzo not only meets LEED certification standards but also offers a smoother ride for wheelchairs and roller bags passing through the airport. And how about those gorgeous waves? They’re more than just eye candy; they’re a nod to the majestic Columbia River.

‘You’re Doing Surgery’: Hoffman Skanska’s
Jason Koski on PDX’s Main Terminal

Jason Koski, general superintendent at Hoffman-Skanska Joint Venture, has seen PDX’s new main terminal take shape from the very start. Not only has he led the on-site construction crews, he’s been in the planning meetings for six years, teaming up with architects, engineers, contractor partners and Port staff to safely solve some of the most technical puzzles any of them have ever encountered. As the new main terminal’s opening day approaches, we asked Jason about the first-time challenges the crew faced — and which ones he’s proudest of helping to solve. (Turns out, they’re the same ones.)

PDX in Pictures
Last week, we celebrated Women's History Month at Juliett, where we toasted – with mocktails, of course – with the PDX People community. In addition to the backdrop of women in aviation, Juliett provided appetizers and beverages, and PDX volunteer musician Brenna Larsen played to perfection.
