Education Impact Update

Friend, we just wrapped up our 2022 fiscal year and are delighted to share a few highlights from our oral health education initiatives!

Community education is vital to preventing tooth decay in children and the dangerous infections it can cause.

Preschool students receive oral health instruction during circle time.

We've distributed enough ToothFairy 101 Community Education Kits to educate

kids every year!

(That's a minimum of 250 kids per kit, each year.) In FY2022 we distributed 90 kits to educators who reach kids in communities with the greatest risk of developing tooth decay.

Education is the first step to prevent dental disease. That's why we're proud that 201,919 kids learned how to keep their smiles healthy using free materials downloaded from our website this year!

Our donors helped our program members educate

children and 118,160 parents

about the importance of daily dental hygiene habits.

7,600 kids received Smile Guardian resources.

152 Smile Guardian Resource kits including toothbrushes and educational materials for children and their caregivers were distributed thanks to Patterson Dental, Delta Dental of North Carolina, Cranberry, Aetna, and Dr. Sam Glick of Cleveland Smile Center.

520 scouts learned how to keep their smiles healthy.

Scouts from Hawaii to Maine completed oral health projects and collected dental hygiene supplies for families in need in order to earn the last of our Oral Health Action HERO patches and our newest patch: the Saving Smiles Dental Hygiene Award.

Smile Pep Rallies reach 1,000 kids in Minnesota

Crest and Oral-B helped our program members get back into schools with oral health presentations and dental hygiene supplies for children in rural Minnesota.

Anti-vaping campaign reaches teens worldwide.

A generous donation from DentaQuest helped educate teens and their parents about the systemic and oral health risks of vaping—reaching kids in the US and around the globe!

SMILE DRIVE 2023 KICK-OFF
