Creating a Lasting Legacy for Loved Ones
In 2017, Community Foundation Board member Marlene Mulero-Betances and her husband Robert Betances, established a donor advised fund, the Dos Abuelas Fund, to honor their grandmothers and support charitable projects that align with their values.
On May 31, 2020, Amelia Betances-Adorno, Robert's abuela (grandmother) and one of the inspirations behind the creation of the Dos Abuelas Fund, passed away. In the Betances family, she was a symbol of strength, courage, compassion, and generosity. Amelia was a selfless woman of great faith who always persevered. She will be missed by all who knew her.
During her lifetime, she impacted the lives of many family, friends, and neighbors.
Although Amelia is gone, her legacy will continue to impact countless others through grants from the Dos Abuelas Fund. To learn more about establishing a donor advised fund in honor or memory of a loved one, visit our website or contact Brenda Rigdon.

Many community members have asked how they can honor Suzie's years of service to Kosciusko County and the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. In response to those requests, the Community Foundation Board of Directors approved two new funds:

Suzie Light Visual and Performing Arts Fund
Suzie Light Nonprofit Leadership Excellence Fund
