ARTS PROGRAM
A portion of the work that the Arts team focuses on is maintaining the sites we’ve already painted due to wear and tear. Sometimes a site has been weathered so much that we do a full redo: check out this amazing facelift on Vine Street!
GREENSPACE

Are you interested in transforming a space into a celebrated community place? The application for our Spaces to Places program will be rolling out this month. Those interested in applying can sign up below to receive the application.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS

Thanks to the incredible leaders from Amazon Air for joining us for our first big team-building event since 2019! We were able to host 60 of their trainees prepping to open the newest facility at CVG for an afternoon working in Walnut Hills helping to spruce up community garden spaces and the exterior of Bush Recreation Center, paint a barricaded building, and clear out overgrowth to allow for a future mural project at DAMPE School.

LET US PLAN A TEAM-BUILDING EVENT FOR YOU!
JULY VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:
Christine Johnson
Christine joined the East Walnut Hills Assembly Events Committee in 2014 and has been a Board Member since 2016. Two years ago, the Committee began hosting a monthly trash walk, rain or shine, which inspired many trash pick-ups in bordering neighborhoods. Now, you can find Christine and her dedicated group rotating between East Walnut Hills, Evanston, and Walnut Hills. Christine and the East Walnut Hills Assembly are a wonderful example of what great things can come from commitment and dedication to a simple monthly Great American Cleanup event in their neighborhood.

When asked how she keeps the momentum going month-to-month she says, "It's all because of my volunteers. I have families that show up every time. I also have an older gentleman and his friend who come every month having scoped out an area in advance, and they have been a great help by taking the lead!"

Experience the trash walks for yourself! Find their monthly events on the first Saturday of each month and register below.

EDUCATION

Join us for the Contemporary Arts Center’s second annual Artist-in-Nature Exhibition in partnership with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, hosted by MadTree Brewing.

Artists from the summer’s Eco-Conscious Art Making Workshop have put their knowledge of materials and local environmental issues to the test, with each creating pieces to be displayed in a free 2-week exhibition at MadTree Brewing. Opening night kicks off July 22nd from 6-8pm where patrons will get to meet the artists, learn more about KCB’s cleanup efforts, and get a chance to create their own works of art to take home. Many of the pieces on display will be put up for auction as well. Follow the link to learn more about the event, artists, and bid on some original, local art inspired by our beautiful city.
