Happy New Year Office of Undergraduate Research community! As we head into 2026, the new year brings a ton for research: new epiphanies with research, redirection of research efforts, and affirmation of what one is doing. I want to thank you all for being a part of our research community that comprises of faculty, staff, and students. Looking back at 2025 there were many milestones made in undergraduate research including: OUR funded nearly 700 undergraduate researchers, approximately 7,000 people attended the Undergraduate Research Education Series, over 30,000 on social media, and 968 reached through tabling and classroom presentations. This work is done because of our campus partners, and I want to thank the OUR Team.
2026 brings us ongoing positive announcements and we are pleased to announce 251 undergraduate researchers were selected to receive funding for Spring 2026 through , , , and to participate in high impact practices with mentored research. Congratulations to our funded undergraduates and mentors.
