Efrenia Pere
Efrenia Pere Provides Bear-y Excellent Customer Service
Efrenia Pere with Relay Resources was nominated by James, a PDX traveler.
"I wanted to share a quick story of kindness at PDX. My three-year-old son, who is autistic, has a very strong attachment to his stuffed bear, aptly named Bear.
While playing in the PDX play area near Tillamook, he accidentally tossed Bear over the back wall into a space about 10 feet down with no easy access, just a few minutes before we needed to board our flight.
That’s when Efrenia, an employee with Relay Resources, noticed what happened. She paused her regular work, rushed to a nearby office, found the right keys, and came back just in time to rescue Bear.
What could have been a heartbreaking moment for my son turned into one of relief and gratitude. I want to publicly thank Efrenia for going above and beyond. People like her make a real difference and reflect so well on both Relay Resources and PDX as a whole."

What's New with PDX Next: Ticket Hall Moves and B/C Bypass Closure
Ticket Hall: In December, a few ticket counters may move to new locations due to construction. For real-time ticket counter placements, check out the aisle signs – the big screen lists the airlines located in that aisle and, below that, the ticketing directory lists the aisles for all other airlines. If you get a question from a passenger, this will save you time wandering the aisles looking for a specific airline.
B/C BypassStarting today through Monday, Dec. 15, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., crews will perform crane work above Concourse B. The B/C bypass will be closed during this time and an alternate exit route will be in use. The exit route is open to all, but entry into Concourse B through this route is only open to Alaska/Horizon, Bags, Inc., and emergency responders.

HOP pass station at PDX.
New TriMet HOP Fastpass Option Added at PDX
In case you missed it, there are now two ways for employees or travelers to get a TriMet HOP Fastpass. Inside the terminal at the south end of baggage claim, there’s now a pay station where you can purchase a physical HOP Fastpass card – which includes a $3 one-time fee – or reload a HOP Fastpass. Outside the terminal by the MAX trains, there’s a HOP reader where you can tap a credit or debit card with an echo symbol or tap your smart phone’s mobile wallet. With this tap-to-pay method, you don’t need to purchase a physical HOP Fastpass card from the kiosk.
