Los Angeles, CA (October 10, 2014) American Photographic Artists (APA) and the Lucie Foundation proudly announce the 2014 APA/Lucie Foundation Scholarship recipient: photographer Anna Tihanyi of Budapest, Hungary.  This coveted scholarship is awarded to a professional photographer who is beginning a new project idea, or continuing work in progress on a specific series.  Anna Tihanyi will receive the $5000 cash prize at the 12th Annual Lucie Awards on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York City.  Anna’s pieces address relevant and common feminine situations, by re-creating different characters. The work was truly global in spectrum with an impressive variety of interesting projects.  In a tight competition, it was Anna's well-outlined proposal that tipped the scales in her favor for the scholarship.”
Director/Photographer and APA Executive Vice President, Michael Grecco added, "There was an outstanding selection of candidates this year making it difficult for the judges to all agree on candidate without debate. We are unanimous though in our selection and compliment everyone who entered."
“Scholarships are such a critical component of our mission and to join forces with APA for the past three years has been an ideal partnership as we share a common mission of supporting photographers. We thank APA for this partnership and for their generous support " added Cat Jimenez, Executive Director, Lucie Foundation.
