Faculty registration is open for All Campus Commencement (Saturday, June 11) and the Class of 2020 Commencement celebration on (Friday, June 10) as well as the commencement ceremonies for the undergraduate colleges, Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs, Rady School of Management, and School of Global Policy and Strategy (June 11–12, 2022).
Commencement marks one of the most important moments in a student’s academic career—culminating years of hard work with the award of a UC San Diego degree. As faculty members and campus leaders, your participation is a key element in the pomp and circumstance of All Campus Commencement and the related college, graduate division, and professional school celebrations. The students and their families deeply appreciate your presence as a symbol of the faculty’s central role in the university. We encourage you to participate in as many ceremonies as possible.
Faculty registration is open through Wednesday, April 27, 2022. To receive alma mater and degree-specific regalia rentals you must register by today.
Note, if you request late registration and request regalia rental, the order will be filled with UC San Diego regalia and hood.
To register and to order regalia, please visit the Faculty Commencement website.
All Campus Commencement Keynote
This year, UC San Diego is honored to host NASA Astronaut and UC San Diego alumna Jessica Meir, Ph.D. ’09 as the All Commencement Keynote Speaker. Meir is a shining example of how the Triton spirit can propel our graduates to great heights in their pursuits to impact the world. While a marine biology student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Meir researched the physiology of diving mammals and birds. Today, she is internationally recognized as one of the two NASA astronauts who made history performing the first all-woman spacewalk, and is currently poised to be one of the first women on the moon as part of NASA’s Artemis Mission. We look forward to her inspiring words.
We are seeking volunteers to help guide graduates to their seats, answer family and visitor questions and more during the All Campus Commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 11. Volunteers play an integral role in our commencement ceremonies by helping us ensure that our graduates and their guests have a meaningful experience on this important day. Indicate your interest by registering on the Commencement website, or email Celest Avila for more information.
