It's hay season once again at Mill Creek Farm...The pasture grass has slowed its growth so it's time to pull out all the hay huts and stock with the large rolls of coastal Bermuda hay.  RHH good friend and feed and hay provider BUDDY CREWS, owner of Ft. White Farm & Feed, delivered the rolls along with his best friend, Bruno. RHH ranch foreman, Brad along with Dakota set up the hay huts for which the retirees are now happily enjoying their hay meals together...catching up on the latest pasture news.
RHH Welcomed SUSAN & ZEEBA!
Longtime RHH friend and supporter SUSAN NOYES and her wonderful English Cocker Spaniel, ZEEBA visit the farm twice a year on their bi-annual migration between Michigan & Florida. They spend a week in the farm's bunkhouse in November on their way south to the west coast of Florida for the winter helping out on whatever chores need doing. This trip Susan cleared the trails of fallen tree branches while accompanied by scout Zeeba.  Thank you for all you do on behalf of RHH! See you in the Spring!

     The AMERICAN CROW
(Corvus brachyrhynchos)
A year- round resident here at Mill Creek Farm, the American crow keeps us company throughout the day with their fence sitting and cawing.
These highly intelligent birds usually feed on the ground searching for insects, earthworms, and seeds , etc.  They congregate in large numbers in winter, sleeping in communal roosts……..  the number which can be in the thousands.  Known for their cleverness they will drop twigs on someone climbing a tree near their nests or distract an animal from their food while their fellow crows move in to take it.  Long lived, a captured crow in NY lived to be 59 years old!

The 2020 Holiday Ornaments Arrived And Sold Out!
Artist LIZ WETTINGFELD has created once again fifty (This is the fifth year) beautiful limited edition hand crafted ceramic ornaments.
We are so thankful to Liz for her wonderful donation on behalf of RHH which helped us raise $1,000.00 for the Horses.

THANK YOU RHETT JANSSEN!!
RHH's wonderful volunteer, RHETT JANSSEN, is here by 7 AM every Tuesday to drag the pastures ...in the rain or in the sun, you can find him on the tractor.  All the 44 pastures and paddocks are dragged once or twice a week which is extremely important for the health of the Bermuda grass which is so critical for the nutrition of our retirees.  The manure is broken up and spread throughout the field creating a healthy and robust grass.

ROBIN RETURNS!

Great RHH friend and supporter Robin Stellers visiting from her home in Idaho begins her farm chores as soon as she arrives!  This trip she is touch up painting all the faded red bio boards.  With the interested horses hanging their heads over to watch her work,  Robin has to be careful not to let noses get into the wet paint.
Thank you Robin once again for all your great help and your support of the retirees at RHH.  Hope to see you again SOON!

SATURDAY OPEN HOUSE COVID-19 UPDATE
