Dear Student,
Please note the last day for first-year students to drop courses is Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET via SIS. First-year students who drop courses before this deadline will be dropped without record of enrollment. Students may not drop a course after this date; enrollments that continue beyond this date will be graded at the end of the semester in accordance with course grading policies. Academic deadlines for First- and Second-Session courses can be found on the academic calendar.
Undergraduate students interested in changing their course grading method to pass/fail for Full-Term courses must fill out the pass/fail petition form by Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. This is a firm deadline for which no exceptions will be granted. We strongly encourage students to discuss their decisions regarding pass/fail grading with their advisors. Please visit the Pass/Fail Option web page for additional information about pass/fail grading. As a reminder, a course that has been taken using the pass/fail grading option, and for which the student earned a pass, may not be repeated for credit. Pass/fail deadlines for A- and B-session courses can be found on the academic calendar.
For students who are billed per credit, making enrollment changes such as changing (including swapping) and dropping classes are subject to the per-credit refund calendar. The refund percentage is based on the length of course being dropped and the date the course is dropped. Other fees, such as mandatory, lab or material fees, are not pro-rated.
*F-1 or J-1 visa holders, please contact InternationalCenter@tufts.edu before dropping below full time (12 credits for undergraduates and 9 credits for graduate students) if you do not already have prior authorization.
If you have technical questions about dropping courses in SIS, please contact Student Services at 617-627-2000, by email at StudentServices@tufts.edu, or in Dowling Hall. For advice on whether or not to drop a course, please contact your advisor or advising dean.
