A large California family

adopted a dog named Bear. A young pup with lots of energy, he escaped out the front door one day. At the end of a second long day of searching, they were notified that he was found.

Excitement turned to distress as they realized he had suffered an injury during his excursion. Unable to afford treatment, the family did the best they could to comfort him. But the injury only got worse, and their vet confirmed the leg was broken and needed to be set.

With Brown Dog's help, the family was able to pay for the treatment through a Vetbilling Payment Plan which insured they could continue to pay their bills and afford treatment for Bear.

A Florida husband

reached out after his wife suffered a brain tumor and was no longer able to work.

Peanut, their cat, whom she'd found as a kitten and adopted as her own, suffered a blockage in its intestine and was very sick. On a strict budget due to their financial setback, the couple planned to use their rent money to pay for an emergency surgery.

Luckily, the husband applied for and received financial assistance from Brown Dog Foundation, enabling them to save their cat and pay their rent.
