Celebrating the Week of the Young Child 2026: Honoring Rotary International and Advancing Oklahoma’s Commitment to Children

by A.J. Griffin
The Week of the Young Child, April 11-17, 2026, offers a powerful opportunity to celebrate young children, honor the people and organizations dedicated to their well‑being, and renew our collective commitment to building communities where every child can thrive. Among the global champions for children, Rotary International stands out as a steadfast partner in lifting up families, improving health, and investing in the foundation every child deserves. Rotary’s long history of service—rooted in the belief that strong communities begin with strong, supported families—aligns beautifully with the goals we hold in Oklahoma for our youngest residents.

Rotarians around the world work tirelessly to create conditions for healthy child development: expanding access to early learning, improving maternal and child health, reducing preventable diseases, and strengthening community supports. Their commitment reflects a truth we know well here at home—the earliest years of life matter profoundly. April 2026 District Newsletter

The energy coming out of PETS this year was truly encouraging. It was great to see so many leaders from across District 5750 come together with a shared commitment to serve and grow. The collaboration, conversations, and willingness to learn from one another made a lasting impression.
PETS was more than just training—it was a valuable opportunity to connect, reflect, and prepare for the year ahead. Thank you to everyone who participated, contributed, and supported the experience. Your time and effort are what make this district strong.
