The Hofstra community is excited for the start of the 2025-26 academic year. As we welcome students and faculty's return, we invite our community partners to join us on campus for this year’s Presidential Symposium, held September 16-19. With the theme “The Beauty of...”, faculty will host discussions that explore and share the beauty they have found in the work they do, what drew them in, and what inspires their work.
All sessions will be held in the Leo A. Guthart Cultural Center, Joan and Donald Axinn Library, South Campus, unless otherwise noted. All events are free and open to the public. RSVP is required. For more information about this year’s Presidential Symposium, click here.
Thank you for your continued partnership, we look forward to seeing you this fall.
Sincerely,
Chanda Washington
Associate to the President for Government and Community Affairs

Anthony Rondello ‘19 grew up in Massapequa after moving from Brooklyn and chose Hofstra in part because of its then-mandatory ROTC program. Rondello, who first set foot on Hofstra’s campus in 1963, never imagined his journey to a degree would span five decades. After completing eight semesters of military science, and just nine credits shy of his diploma, Rondello was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1967. He soon found himself on active duty with the U.S. Army. He retired after 30 years, and despite an accomplished career, one goal remained unfinished: a college degree. Read more here.
