Quote from our film 30,000 Days, released three years before the pandemic: “Because things are going to come at you in life from all directions, good and bad, that might shift what brings you that sense of purpose. But your character strengths are at the core. They’re your resources to call upon to help navigate a future that’s unknown. While it may seem like we’re facing more complex problems today than we have in the past, if we look back through history we can see these times as an invitation … to step up and focus on what really matters."

Dear Community,
There are a lot of things that feel like déjà vu going into this September. We’re still in a mask debate; we’re worried about kids at school; we’re navigating safety and uncertainty in every direction.
But a lot of it is different, too. We’ve learned so much over the past 18 months. We’ve learned the value of slowing down. We’ve learned that we don’t need to be everywhere, in person, all the time. We’ve learned that remote work has tremendous benefits, and also that creating healthy boundaries between work and home takes skills, and practice. And we’ve also learned the blessings and the curses of using screens for everything.
Mostly, we’ve learned how much we, as humans, can adapt.
This is something my team at Let it Ripple and I have given a lot of thought to, and we are really excited to be working directly with companies and organizations now with our new talk and program The Future of Work and Wellbeing: Optimizing Work/Life Balance in a Hybrid World. We'd love to work with you and your team. Find out more.
I'm also happy to be offering other talks again (mostly lively interactive Zooms, some live when safe). If you're interested in booking, find out more. Topics include:
Reset, Reflect, Recharge: The Power of Unplugging
Making Things Happen: Turning Ideas into Action
American Jewish Identity in the 21st Century
- The Science of Character: How to Flourish in Today's World
Getting to a Gender Balanced World
This Thursday I’ll be in conversation on Clubhouse with MIT Professor Sherry Turkle and Artist Victoria Millerabout about "Feeling Post-Covid Uncertainty? Embrace the Certainty of Change." Info below.
In light of where we are, I wanted to share two of our films that I think speak to this time:
- 30,000 Days (11 mins, 2017), about the 3,000-year history of humans thinking about meaning, purpose, and navigating uncertainty.
- A Case for Optimism (5-min episode from our original series,The Future Starts Here, 2013) about reasons to be hopeful when taking into perspective the bigger picture of humanity and history. (S1 Ep8).
Lastly, Ken and I took Odessa to college last week. It’s all so bittersweet, but we’re excited for her next chapter and to watch how she adapts and evolves.
Love,
Tiffany
PS. And for those in California: please remember to vote in this recall election. So much is on the line.
