CAMP WAS AMAZING!
What Happens at Camp?
YoungLives Camp is a wonderful experience for everyone involved!  The girls have an amazing time with a reprieve from their daily routines but there is so much more than that to camp.  The girls and leaders have time to get to know each other and bond in a casual, relaxed atmoshphere.   Club time, which is in the same format as weekly Monday night clubs, begin with skits, interactive games that are played with girls and leaders, and great music is shared before the message is given.  There are four Clubs during weekend camps.  The message is given in four sessions and gives the girls the opportunity to hear about Jesus' love and forgiveness.  Each message focuses on one part of this so the girls have a chance to process what they heard and ask questions in cabin time.  Cabin time is a special chance for the Leader and girls to talk about the message and how it impacted them, ask questions, and be in a small group environment that they feel safe to open up and share about their life and how Jesus fits in.  YoungLives is unique as it has a separate group of volunteers dedicated to watching the children so the girls can focus on the program and message.  Of course there is always down time at camp!  All YoungLife camps have a variety of activities designed for kids to let loose and have fun.
If you would like to find out first-hand what camp is like, we invite you to be an adult guest at a YoungLives Camp, please email Rose:  younglives@jax.younglife.org
Touching Lives  -  YoungLives
From a Leaders Perspective...
One of our Leaders shared this about her camp experience:
What stood out to me at the weekend camp in January was the activities you had for the girls to do and keeping them busy with Clubs and music you played for them.  Everything was on their level and the people doing skits and acting made the girls laugh.
The Lord used me by talking and spending time with each girl and listening to them talking about things they are going through.  The girls were enjoying themselves while their kids were in childcare as well as when the kids were with them.  They could have the responsibility of caring for their kids while having fun at the same time.
The speaker at Club was so good. Jesus was presented to the girls on their level of understanding the Bible, giving them the opportunity to pray to accept Jesus into their lives.  After Club with cabin talk was special.  The girls could say what they heard and ask questions.
The peace and quiet with no phones or TV was good for all of us giving us time to enjoy being outside in the beautiful nature that God created.
Spreading the Word of YoungLives to Others. . .
Emmaus Church welcomed us to share with them about YoungLives and the powerful impact this ministry has on girls in our area.  This was a great opportunity for people who may not have ever heard about YoungLives to find out what we are about.  Several people signed up to volunteer which we are very grateful for.
We would like to have more opportunities to talk about YoungLives!  If you know of a church or small group that would be interested in hosting a YoungLives presentation, please email Rose:  younglives@jax.younglife.org.  This is a great way to spread the word and promote this ministry
SAVING CHANGE FOR CAMP
YoungLives is having a Lenten fund-raising campaign to help send girls and their kids to camp.  Toss your spare change in a can and the money collected will be used to give girls and their kids the YoungLives camp experience.  We are happy to provide a can, or you can use one of your own. To get a can please contact Rose at  younglives@jax.younglife.org.

We thank you for your continued support.
