VALENTINE'S NEIGHBORHOOD CHALLENGE
Make February a month of love and generosity! There is no better time to focus on sending ripples of kindness through your community than now. We challenge you and our neighbors to follow this map and add your own ideas up until Valentine's Day or all month long!
FOUNDER'S DAY 2021
On February 22, we celebrate our founders, Wybe and Marietje Kroontje (Wee-ba and Mar-ee-cha Croon-cha), Dutch immigrants, whose vision and determination made Warm Hearth Village a reality for seniors from all walks of life.
In 1990, resident Harry D. Temple designed the Warm Hearth Coat of Arms and presented it to the Kroontjes. We will be displaying this symbol in various ways, as well as sharing more information about the meaning behind its features and enjoying an array of fun Dutch themed events and activities across the Village as we celebrate the legacy of our founders.

OPERATION PAPERBACK
Warm Hearth has partnered with Operation Paperback to connect veterans and military servicemen and women with gently-used paperback books. The collection of books began January 1 and so far we have collected 199 paperbacks in addition to a collection of romance novels. (We do not currently need any more romance novels thanks to the generous donation already received.) Books are also being collected by the Blacksburg AARP and Montgomery/Radford RSVP in a collaborative effort for the New River Valley. A total of 98 books have been shipped to Marine Base-Camp Pendleton, the 380th Airforce Combat Command overseas, the army unit in Afghanistan and various others. If you are interested in contributing to Operation Paperback, you may drop off books at the Village Center, 2387 Warm Hearth Drive, Blacksburg.
