Chris Odom, SP Plus Corporation
Chris Odom Makes the Ride Fun
Chris Odom (he/him) with SP Plus Corporation was nominated by Tasha, a PDX traveler.
"I wanted to send a letter of praise regarding Chris, the shuttle bus driver. He was honestly the best shuttle bus driver I've experienced at PDX...or anywhere!
Not only did he help with our bags – a welcome treat – he was also quick and friendly in the process. He stacked the luggage so perfectly that everything fit nicely on the racks. During the ride, he was personable and cracking jokes! He even helped with getting the luggage off the bus.
Seriously, Chris was fantastic. Taking the shuttle after a long trip can be a slog, but he made it enjoyable."

What's New with PDX Next: South Escalators and Concourse E Detour
South Escalator Closures: Starting today, Monday, March 10, through Thursday, March 13, there will be escalator closures while crews install carpet, finish terrazzo floors, and perform other work around the south escalator core. One up and one down escalator (between ticketing and bag claim) at the south core will remain operational at all times.
Concourse E Detour: Today (Monday, March 10) is the last day of Concourse B impacts until Thursday, March 19. Between now and then, the Concourse E detour will be in effect from Tuesday, March 11, through Tuesday, March 18.
As a reminder, the Concourse E detour impacts evening travelers arriving from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.:
A shortcut with a twist: Passengers arriving at Concourse E will take a temporary exit that leads straight to the arrivals curb—quicker than the current route! The path features an ADA-friendly ramp and a brief walk through some uncovered areas. Travelers can re-enter the terminal to access baggage claim, the rental car center, or lower roadway.
Connecting flights: Connecting passengers will need to head back to the ticket lobby to re-clear security and enter PDX. Those travelers will get an "express pass" to skip to the front of the TSA line.
Meet and greet in a different spot: For people meeting these arriving passengers, they’ll need to meet at the curb or in baggage claim. If you see folks waiting at the steps for their arriving friends or family between 6 p.m. and 3 a.m., feel free to check if their party is coming from Concourse E gates.

PDX 2045 Open House
Do you know folks who'd like to learn about and provide feedback on the master plan update for PDX? Invite them to our PDX 2045 open house on Wednesday, March 19, at Leodis V. McDaniel High School! The open house is a drop-in opportunity where attendees can learn about the project, talk with the team, and provide input that will help shape how our airport grows. There will be brief presentations at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m. and information stations where guests can learn more about community impact, planning history, the master plan process, and more. If someone you know has thoughts on what should be considered as we accommodate expected growth over the next 20 years, please pass along the PDX 2045 website so they can learn more.

The Oregonian: 'Airport theory' Trend is Causing People to Miss Flights. At PDX There’s No Reason to Risk It
The TikTok trend "airport theory" is telling travelers to show up just 15 minutes before their flight departs. While a few lucky folks make it, tons are missing their flights – searches for "I missed my flight," are up 645%! At PDX, we still recommend travelers arrive two hours early. Plus, there’s so much to do here! From local food spots to live music and cool shops, showing up early isn’t a chore – it’s part of the trip. Let’s keep reminding folks: At PDX, arriving early isn’t just smart, it’s worth it.

PDX in Pictures
Does this image give you déjà vu? That's right  we're moving roof sections again! For this round of roof, we're capping the south and north sides of PDX. These roof moves, and the prep for them, are why we've shared Concourse B and E detours over the last few months. This will continue through April as we work to bring you 30% more PDX!
