Dear Fellow Hornets,
We are excited to welcome you back to campus for the start of the Spring 2023 semester. Hornet Wellness is one of our top priorities at Sacramento State. This winter, California observed increases in cases of seasonal influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), the common cold, and COVID-19. Amid winter weather conditions and the spread of viruses, we would like you all to return safely to campus. It is important to be proactive in taking preventative measures to protect yourself and others from COVID-19, flu, and other winter viruses.
As you return to campus:
- Monitor yourself for symptoms of winter viruses, like fever, sore throat, cough, and runny or stuffy nose.
- If you are sick, think you may have COVID-19, or have had a possible or known exposure to COVID-19, isolate yourself from others and take a COVID test. Order at-home tests.
- If you test positive for COVID-19, continue to follow isolation guidance, do not come to campus, and report your positive COVID test to Sac State.
- Staying up to date with your COVID-19 and flu vaccinations can reduce your risk of developing and spreading severe infections. Visit vaccines.gov to find available locations nearest you.
- Wearing a well-fitting mask is highly recommended, especially in indoor settings. Masks are still required in healthcare settings, such as Student Health & Counseling Services. Free masks are available at Student Health and Counseling Services and other campus locations.
