Kevin Williams - Oath of Office
UM-Dearborn Chief of Police Kevin Williams, center, took the oath of office Friday during a public ceremony. Here, he shared a light-hearted moment with wife, Laura Williams, and longtime friend, Toledo Deputy Chief of Police Benjamin Tucker, who conducted the ceremony. Williams was appointed director of public safety and chief of police in May 2014.
Daniel E. Little will serve a fourth term as University of Michigan-Dearborn chancellor. His reappointment, approved by the University of Michigan Board of Regents February 19, is for a three-year term effective July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2018.
Two new programs
Two new programs announced
Two new undergraduate programs were announced during Thursday's Regents' meeting: Applied statistics, offered through the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters and child's life, offered through the College of Education, Health, and Human Services. Both programs will begin this fall.
UM-Dearborn received approval last week from the Wayne County Commission to help control the deer population on Wayne County land within the university’s Environmental Study Area. The Commission voted 14-0 in favor of conducting a deer cull, which university officials believe will help preserve the diversity and health of local vegetation and wildlife within the area.
