From the Office of the Dean |

Happy (cold) Monday! I hope this issue of our biweekly newsletter finds you doing as well as possible at a stressful point in the academic calendar. Between course registration, the Thanksgiving holiday next week, and the impending end of the semester, it definitely can be a challenging time of year. At the same time, there is so much good that is happening in our College, and on campus, that I hope you’re able to carve a few moments to check them all out. The people of CHDCM are, as always, heating up a chilly day!
As always, there is a great deal going on here in the College, such as our Pirates in the Field program giving CHDCM students the chance to work College GameDay for ESPN—with our own Angie Diaco crushing her assignment for ESPN at Pitt! I also want to remind undergraduate CHDCM students interested in production of a great opportunity to participate in the new Reda Films Apprenticeship Program beginning in Spring 2026! This in-person apprenticeship is designed exclusively for CHDCM students with an interest in TV, film, and media. Contact our Office of Fieldwork and Certification for more information and application instructions — act this week to apply for your spot as Reda Films starts work on a new 3-part series for a *major* network….another one-of-a-kind CHDCM opportunity!
So, even as we recognize the hectic pace of this time of year, I invite you to take a little time to read on, and enjoy the good news and shout outs from the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media! As always, keep your good news and event notes coming, have a great remainder of your week, and we will be back with the next installation of this newsletter after Thanksgiving!
