Alumni Spotlight

The Lifelong Learner
To call Michael Brooks (MBA ’93), a “lifelong learner” might well be an understatement. The partner at Toronto law firm Aird & Berlis LLP already had three degrees under his belt when he began the Schulich MBA program.  After graduating, Michael designed a new course in real estate law at Schulich, while continuing to practice law full-time. Today, Michael credits his Schulich teaching experience with the genesis of his textbook, Canadian Commercial Real Estate: Theory, Practice and Strategy, published in 2016 by the Real Property Association of Canada.

Managing Across Generations for Stronger Teams
New Online Program
(Program Duration: must be completed in 4 months)

The Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC) is proud to offer Managing Across Generations for Stronger Teams

Today’s workplaces feature three – soon to be four – generations, each with their own modes of communication and ways of using technology. Yet organizational leaders are failing to connect with two or three generations of employees, leading to stress, disengagement and extremely low levels of efficiency. And they don’t even realize it’s happening. This new online, self-paced learning program will teach managers how to shift their approach for workers of each generation in order to bridge the workplace communications gap.
This online learning program comprises three distinct modules, each consisting of four 10-minute lessons and four homework assignments done offline and then submitted. Participants may complete the program at their own pace but within four months from registration, or join a monthly cohort with weekly communication and feedback from advisers and coaches finishing within the same four-month time period. Once participants have registered, they will receive online access and instructions from Donohue Learning.
Please review the program details from the link below. Please contact us at 416-736-5079. Or visit us at www.seec.schulich.yorku.ca if you have any questions.
If two or more participants register together, a multi-registrant discounts is available. Please enquire at 416-736-5079.
