UT Expands Resources for the Humanities Center
|
The University of Tennessee has made a $700,000 investment into the UT Humanities Center, signaling a strong commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research and scholarship in the arts and humanities across campus.
“By providing additional resources that will allow the Center to grow and thrive, we are recognizing the exceptional contributions of our colleagues in the arts and humanities, and demonstrating our belief in the power of their work and its impact on the world we all share,” said Vice Chancellor for Research Deborah Crawford.

The goal of Catalyst is to help you connect with ORIED resources to support every stage of your research–from ideation to results.
Catalyst provides a deeper understanding of the services, opportunities, and expertise offered by ORIED. Each issue showcases our teams and initiatives, provides critical updates from funders, shares upcoming events and workshops, and celebrates research achievements across campus. Catalyst also communicates the impact of our work on the UT research enterprise, providing transparency and accountability to the community we serve.
ORIED will continue to provide digests for funding opportunities and limited submissions, and listservs on specific topics, which range from institutional initiatives, updates to sponsored research policies and procedures, fellowships and residency opportunities for the arts, and more.

Seed Funds Announced for AI TENNessee Initiative, AI Research and Team Building
ORIED has announced the availability of up to $1 million in seed funding to advance knowledge and team building in multidisciplinary artificial intelligence that helps UT grow its capabilities, reputation, and impact in AI-related research across disciplines. Proposals are solicited for collaborative or exploratory research, or for team building activities, due by March 30, 2023.

| NSF Innovation Corps Regional Program Announced
Have you developed technology in the lab that may have a commercial application? Join the NSF Innovation Corps Program to engage with customers and explore market potential! Kicking off April 14, this three-week program focuses on launching a technology start-up, conducting user-driven research, and pursuing licensing and tech transfer into a commercial application.

| SPARKS: Broadband on March 23
To connect faculty from a wide variety of disciplines involved in broadband research, ORIED has scheduled SPARKS: Broadband at IAMM on Thursday, March 23. Attendees will connect with potential collaborators and leave with a better sense of UT-wide expertise, resources, and capacity in broadband research.

| Leadership Transitions in Research Integrity and Assurance
Brad Day, Associate Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation Initiatives, will be assuming interim leadership responsibilities for the Research Integrity & Assurance portfolio. Tami Wyatt has agreed to serve as the interim Institutional Official for the Institutional Review Board, and Mary Jourdan Sechrist will be assuming interim responsibilities as Research Integrity Officer.
