Bible Studies This Fall

Jesus in the Gospels
Wednesdays • 9:30 a.m.

Study the name, the place, and the people, and encounter the Jesus who is both hard to ignore and hard to control--a commanding, morally compelling figure as portrayed in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. This is a 30-week study. The overarching aim is to deepen discipleship through better understanding of the biblical texts and their message.  The study helps group members understand that Jesus is rooted in Judaism and the Scriptures of Judaism and that Christianity and the New Testament are rooted in the Scriptures of Judaism—our Old Testament.
Daily reading and weekly preparation will be required for this class.
If you would like to join this class, please contact Sharon Warfield, smwarfield@gmail.com.

Thursday Morning Theology Group
9:30 a.m.

This fall, we will be studying Soren Kierkegaard’s classic text, Works of Love. Soren Kierkegaard was a 19th-century theologian and philosopher and is considered the Father of Existentialism. Works of Love is one of Kierkegaard’s most widely read books and seeks to clarify what Scripture means by “love” as well as what Scripture calls us to do in regards to “love.” All are welcome to join us as we tackle this challenging but worthwhile text together! Questions, please reach out to Will at wwellman@nashvillewpc.org . Books will be available in the office or at any bookseller.
Come join us on Monday, September 9, for the Fourth Annual Westminster Golf Outing at Hermitage Golf Course. Cost is $125 per player with registration beginning at 11:30 a.m. with lunch followed by a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. Practice balls will be available.

Friends of Westminster are welcome to play.

All proceeds and donations will benefit Westminster Home Connection.

Please contact Mark Lawrence with any questions at 615-477-9319 cell or markwlawrence58@gmail.com.
