RSVP: Adapting to Student Needs Launch Party |

All Student Affairs staff members are invited to celebrate the launch of the Student Affairs strategic plan, "Adapting to Student Needs,” on October 25, 2022 from 3-5 p.m. at the Union Patio and Recreation Area.
There will be food, gift bags, mini golf, a photo booth, and more!

New Director of Student Support and Accountability |
LaRhonda Johnson Horton will join Student Affairs as Director of Student Support and Accountability beginning Nov. 1, 2022. Horton Johnson will provide leadership in coordinating and streamlining efforts in both areas for a more cohesive student experience.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month |
Cybersecurity is the practice of securing data and the technology systems handling that data. We can protect ourselves by practicing good cybersecurity.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month |
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This year, the Center for Student Wellness (CSW) hopes to educate the campus community about the different types of abuse, bring awareness to the campus community that violence happens and how to prevent violence, and build community using “listen, believe, refer.”
|

Getting vaccinated on campus is quick and easy for all students, staff, and faculty. Community Nursing Services is now hosting vaccine clinics on Thursdays in the Lund Room of the Christensen Center. The new COVID booster bivalent vaccine is available (both Pfizer and Moderna) as well as the flu shot!

Lauren McCluskey memorial walk and 5k events |
Student body leaders in the Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) continue honoring the legacy of student-athlete Lauren McCluskey with commemorate walks and runs in advance of the anniversary of her death. Events this year will be Oct. 21 and 22.

Join the Financial Wellness Center for a 5-Week Budget Challenge beginning October 18! Improve your financial well-being by setting goals, creating a budget, and keeping your finances in order. Students who finish the challenge will be entered to win a $25 dollar gift card!

Join the LGBT Resource Center in celebrating its 20th anniversary at the annual Gay-la on October 29th, from 8 -11 PM at the Natural History Museum of Utah.
Tickets for the event are $100 for VIP and $50 for General Admission. Now, for a limited time, if you buy a General Admission ticket you'll receive a $10 gift card to Cafe Niche or Cafe Trio, and if you buy a VIP ticket you'll receive a $30 gift card to Current Fish and Oyster!

| Student Leadership Summit |
Registration is now open for the Student Leadership Summit, hosted by Student Leadership & Involvement. This year’s Summit will be held at the Alta Peruvian Lodge on Saturday, October 29. Buses will depart at 8 a.m. to Little Cottonwood Canyon and will return at 6 p.m.

The Social Connections Committee invites Student Affairs staff to attend the Women's Soccer game vs. UCLA on October 23rd at 12pm. The game will be held at the Ute Field. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. This is a "Red-Out" game so wear your favorite red Utah gear!
