With the spring semester right around the corner, please remind your student about these resources Indiana Tech has in place to keep your student on track. 

Staffed by caring Student Success Advisors, the Office of Student Success (OSS) is here to guide students throughout their college journey to help them reach their academic, career and personal goals. Talk with your student about the transition to campus life and encourage them to seek out help from their OSS Student Success Advisor. The sooner students recognize the OSS as a resource for their success, the more likely they are to succeed in their first year. The Office of Student Success is located on the lower level of the Snyder Academic Center.

Indiana Tech’s Career Center was created to equip our students with a professional proficiency that will prepare them for active participation, career advancement and leadership in the global 21st century society; and motivate them toward a lives of significance and worth. Your student can begin here to learn about all the resources the Career Center provides. Once back on campus, the center can be found on the second floor of Andorfer Commons.

A new delivery platform for online courses
Earlier this year, Indiana Tech announced it would begin using Canvas as its learning management system instead of Blackboard. If your student is scheduled to take an online course in January, encourage them to visit indianatech.edu/canvas-transition to familiarize themselves with this platform.

TimelyCare, for student health and well-being
Remind your student about TimelyCare, a virtual health and well-being platform Indiana Tech made available to its students at the beginning of the school year. Through either a mobile app or one's desktop computer, TimelyCare provides 24/7 access to virtual care from anywhere in the United States at no cost. Whether your student is feeling under the weather, anxious or overwhelmed, they can talk to a licensed provider to get the care they need via phone or a secure video visit. The WarriorsConnect App
Launched at the beginning of the school year, the WarriorsConnect app was created to enhance our students' college experience by providing them with simple, one-stop access to everything they need to succeed. On WarriorsConnect, students can easily connect with support, information, resources and fellow Indiana Tech community members. The app be downloaded to a mobile device from the App Store and Google Play, or access it online at warriorsconnect.indianatech.edu.

Karl and I are getting used to our annual Christmas celebration being a little different than it has in the past. Last year, we celebrated Christmas in Pittsburgh at an Airbnb, and we are heading there again this year. We begin the weekend together with a Steelers' game on Saturday. With the way they are playing lately, it would be a Christmas miracle to get a win. 

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be spent going to mass, exchanging gifts, eating, enjoying time with our family and friends, watching football, and yes, probably some more eating! ‘Tis the season! 

After Christmas, we will visit Karl’s parents in eastern Pennsylvania and my mom and our other extended family in New Jersey. We enjoy this annual trip a lot, and we look forward to continuing our annual family traditions.
