Are you planning to enroll in summer classes and utilize financial aid? Financial aid funds for summer are typically limited for most students. Once you are enrolled in summer courses, the Office of Financial Aid will assess your eligibility for aid. Please allow 2–4 business days after enrolling in summer courses. Your financial aid package will be available through your myUSF Self-Service portal, where you can review and either accept or decline the aid offered. If you would like to discuss your financial aid eligibility prior to registering for the summer term, we encourage you to reach out to the Office of Financial Aid to speak with a counselor.
Summer Financial Aid Disbursement |
Financial aid disbursement for summer 2026 semester begins on May 18, except for law students. Your actual financial aid disbursement date will depend on your classes and the summer session they begin. Please allow 2-3 weeks for any refund credits to process, depending on your refund selection. Learn more about enrollment and disbursement policies and see instructions to set up direct deposit.

Satisfactory Academic Progress |
To retain financial aid eligibility beginning with summer 2026, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards. This includes maintaining a cumulative minimum GPA that aligns with your degree, successfully completing and passing 67 percent of your attempted units, and completing your degree within the specified timeframe.
| |
SAP is calculated annually after your official spring grades are posted. Students who fail to meet any of the SAP standards will receive an email notification to their USF Dons email and viewable in your myUSF Student Self-Service of their financial aid ineligible status in early June. Any summer and future financial aid are canceled. The SAP status will remain in effect until you meet SAP requirements on your own or successfully appeal your unsatisfactory status. Students may appeal their unsatisfactory academic progress status in the case of extenuating circumstances. Instructions on how to submit your appeal are available on your status letter. If your appeal is successful, your financial aid will be reinstated for the following term. If you have any questions regarding your SAP status, please contact the Office of Financial Aid. Learn more about the SAP policy »
