We are excited to highlight that Hofstra University has been recognized as an Age-Friendly University (AFU), joining a worldwide network of colleges and universities dedicated to welcoming learners at every stage of life.
This honor reflects something that has always been part of Hofstra’s spirit—creating opportunities for people of all ages to learn, grow, and connect with one another. We envision incorporating the AFU framework to enhance programming that supports older learners, promotes intergenerational experience, and deepens community engagement.
This recognition ties nicely to Hofstra 100, our strategic plan for the future, which calls on us to expand access, strengthen community partnerships, and reimagine what education can look like for the next century. Together, we are making sure learning truly lasts a lifetime.
Thanks for being part of the Hofstra family. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
Sincerely,
Chanda Washington
Associate to the President for Government and Community Affairs
