As the student government for the George Washington Law School, the Student Bar Association (SBA) works to give students the best possible school experience. The SBA performs many functions, including advocating on behalf of students to both the Law School and University Administrations, supporting students in their academic and professional goals, and providing a support system for students as they navigate the ups and downs of law school.
As Orientation approaches, SBA is excited to welcome you with several events before classes begin!
Tuesday, August 11 | 10:00 AM > Beyond the Campus Tour: Exploring the Nation's Capital
Join us for a student-led DC monuments tour! Arrive early to meet promptly at 10:00 AM outside GW Law's Lerner Hall- H St entrance, as the group will depart on time. We will be ending the tour near the Smithsonian museums in the afternoon, so feel free to reserve a free ticket online at https://www.si.edu/visit/museums to continue exploring after the tour! If you arrive after the group has left, please call 954-643-6102 to meet up with us.
**Transportation after the tour concludes: the tour will end near Archives–Navy Memorial–Penn Quarter Metro Station (Green/Yellow Lines), providing convenient access to public transportation for students traveling home or continuing to explore the city.
Wednesday, August 12 | 6:00 PM > Beyond the Campus Tour: Finding Your DC Favorites
With an evening start time, this tour is a great opportunity for our transfer and evening students to join us for a student-led neighborhood tour exploring Foggy Bottom and ending in Georgetown. Arrive early to meet promptly at 6:00 PM outside GW Law's Lerner Hall (H St. entrance), as the group will leave at the scheduled start time. If you arrive late and cannot find the group, please call 480-696-9951.
**Transportation after the tour concludes: The tour will end at the Georgetown Waterfront. Students may walk back to Foggy Bottom (approximately a 20-minute walk). Bus routes are limited in the area, so rideshare services are encouraged for those who prefer not to walk.
Friday, August 14 | 9:00–11:00 PM > Bar Review
Wrap up the week at our Bar Review at Salazar in the heart of 14th Street! Meet your fellow incoming students while enjoying drink specials, food specials, and complimentary food provided by the SBA (available while supplies last, so arrive early!). This is a 21+ event, and a valid government-issued ID and your student ID are required. The SBA-sponsored event concludes at 11:00 PM. You're welcome to stay afterward, but any time after 11:00 PM is no longer part of the SBA event.

In addition to these events, you'll see the SBA throughout Orientation! We'll be leading law school tours, hosting an information table, and sharing ways to get involved on campus. We'll also provide information about our peer-to-peer book sale, locker sales, student organizations, and other resources to help you make the most of your time at GW Law.
