Ox-Bow Workshop Opportunities
Students interested in both opportunities should apply to the Fellowship. The application includes a section to list workshop preferences in the event they are not selected for the Fellowship.

Ox-Bow Merit Scholarship application: As an institutional partner of Ox-Bow School of Art, the Tufts Career Center is proud to sponsor one SMFA student to attend a workshop this summer. Any student interested n the two-week Ox-Bow workshop at no cost to them should complete the application and prepare a portfolio, short responses about their goals for Ox-Bow, and a selection of preferred workshops. Application deadline: Sunday, March 15 at 11:59 p.m.

Ox-Bow Summer Fellowship application: A 13-week, fully immersive summer experience offering studio access, mentorship, and work-study opportunities within the Ox-Bow community. Fellowship applicants (undergraduate students in their 4th year or MFA students) will submit a portfolio, reflect on their hopes for the summer, and indicate their preferred work-study position.

The Dean's Research Fund call for proposals is open through Tuesday, March 24. Your proposal of a maximum $1000 will include a compelling project description, goals, a detailed budget, and images of your work. Applications are in SlideRoom.

Mindful Tea Tasting
When: Tuesday, March 3 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Buddhist Chaplain Vineetha Mahayaye and Prakruthi Ramesh, Graduate Intern at Tufts University Chaplaincy will lead this program including 15 Minute Loving Kindness Meditation, 15 Minute Mindful Tea Tasting, and 15 Minute Mindful Dialogue.

"Indigo Geographies" Lecture with Nina Gerassi-Navarro
When: Thursday, March 5 at 5 p.m.
Where: Chase Center, Medford/Somerville campus
Focused on natural dye and indigo, this talk with Nina Gerassi-Navarro analyzes how Europe's colonization changed the landscapes of several continents with its textile manufacturing.

Arts and Society: Dialogues 2026
When: Friday, March 6 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Anderson Gallery, SMFA Boston campus
This event features thought-provoking, interdisciplinary dialogues around the ideas that shape the arts and contemporary society, inform the vibrant work of SMFA, and celebrate the power of creative collaborations. Keynote speaker: SMFA alumna Elly S. Vadseth

Friendship Bracelets: Make One, Take One
When: Tuesday, March 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: SMFA Atrium, SMFA Boston campus
Join Counseling and Mental Health Service (CMHS) and Student Life to make your own bracelet and one to share with someone in the SMFA community. CMHS Care Manager Courtney Nugent will be present to support students with finding a therapist or psychiatrist outside of Tufts, and to answer questions about insurance and the mental health system.

Join us for College Night as we welcome college and university students to the MFA for a special free evening of art making, music, gallery exploration, and more! Admission is free with a valid school ID.

Reciprocal Ecology, an exhibition curated by SMFA alum Cassandra Klos, is on display at ShowUp from March 6 through April 26. Reciprocal Ecology examines the diverse ways photographers engage in cyclical relationships with the natural world. Works by SMFA Photography Studio Manager Chris Maliga, Professor Emeritus Sandra Stark, and alum Jodie Goodnough are included. The opening reception is on Friday, March 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
